1. Introduction: five first lessons

Game Theory (ECON 159) We introduce Game Theory by playing a game. We organize the game into players, their strategies, and their goals or payoffs; and we learn that we should decide what our goals are before we make choices. With some plausible payoffs, our game is a prisoners’ dilemma. We learn that we should never choose a dominated strategy; but that rational play by rational players can lead to bad outcomes. We discuss some prisoners’ dilemmas in the real world and some possible real-world remedies. With other plausible payoffs, our game is a coordination problem and has very different outcomes: so different payoffs matter. We often need to think, not only about our own payoffs, but also others’ payoffs. We should put ourselves in others’ shoes and try to predict what they will do. This is the essence of strategic thinking. 00:00 – Chapter 1. What Is Strategy? 02:16 – Chapter 2. Strategy: Where Does It Apply? 02:54 – Chapter 3. (Administrative Issues) 09:40 – Chapter 4. Mario Party 6: Board Playthroughs – Introduction

Hello everybody, and welcome to Mario Party 6 Board Playthroughs! This will be a complete playthrough of everything that is Mario Party 6. The bulk of the videos will focus on the Party Mode boards, but I will of course show off Solo Mode, Mic Mode, Mini-Game Mode, and anything else that can be shown. Like my past Mario Party board playthrough projects, I will release a board every weekend (on Saturday). Once I get closer to the end (or more accurately, when I’m done with the Party Mode boards), I will release more videos of the project more oftenly so I can finish with the project. Also like my past Mario Party projects, after every Party mode, I will have a viewer poll to decide what board I will do next. However, there will only be 3 of them. I discuss the poll conditions in the last Towering Treetop video (which is where the first viewer poll is). Keep in mind though, if you are watching these videos weeks after I have released them, the viewer polls could already be over. In that case, you kind of have the option to watch what boards you want to watch. :P Anyways, I think I have finished discussing what I want to discuss. Each board will be a 20-turn playthrough, but since Mario Party 6 is a bit more slow-paced than other Mario Party games, don’t be surprised if some boards end up being 7 or 8 parts (in fact, Towering Treetop ended up being 8).
